Cathleen Gouveia Design is a boutique high-end Interior Design and Interior Design Project Management company servicing the Bay Area, Lake Tahoe, Napa, and Sonoma Regions and beyond. We provide full-service interior design services for high-end residences, vacation homes, wineries, restaurants, and small commercial projects. Our clients include homeowners, architects and contractors, and realtors. We are able to handle every aspect of your project from designing your ideal home/business environment, to purchasing, expediting, and design project management. With over 20 years in practice, the company has established trustworthy relationships with architects, contractors, builders, showrooms, galleries, artisans, and artists.

CGD prides itself on creating beautiful spaces that reflect our client’s character and individuality. We offer an initial complimentary consultation at your home/business allowing us the opportunity to discuss your project and ideas in person. After your initial consultation and signing of our Letter of Agreement, all design development (research, sourcing, expediting, meetings, site visits) are billed on an hourly basis. 

Our services may include the following for your Interior Design Project: 

Design Consultation - Room refresher services; accessory styling; design advisory services; and acquisition and integration of individual items and collections.

Conceptual Design - Ideation sketches/imagery for the layout and design of your project.

Space Planning - Schematics; furniture/furnishings layouts; integration of existing pieces for the design.

Drafting/Renderings - Architecturally scaled drawings for placement, fit, millwork design, and integration. This may include floor plans, elevations, and perspectives; interior detailing; 3D renderings.

Home Furnishings Design - Custom furniture design or furniture selection with specification of finishes and hardware; custom design or selection of ready-made area rugs, carpeting, wood flooring, tile, stone, other floor coverings/surfaces, draperies, curtains, shades, wallpaper, wall coverings, and bed linens; selection of bespoke and handmade shades and bedding; custom-designed children’s rooms; millwork design; design of custom wall and millwork finishing.

Kitchen and Bath Design - Design layout; selection of tile, stone, backsplashes, countertops, and slabs; procurement of appliances; and integration of lighting.

Lighting Design - Lighting plans; custom fixture design; decorative and architectural fixture selection and design collaboration with electrical consultants.

Color Consultation - Interior and exterior paint color recommendations; finish palettes for new and existing projects; color coordination for textiles, art, and accessories.

Home Organization - Closet organization; garage organization; editing furnishings for downsizing and facilitation of furniture consignment as needed; procurement of furnishings for upsizing; and general organization and storage solutions throughout the household.

Sourcing and Procurement for Home Furnishings for Interior Design - Design-guided shopping outings on behalf of the client to include retail shops, antique stores, art galleries, trade-only showrooms, flea markets, and estate sales in the U.S. and abroad to furnish the design.

Art Recommendation and Acquisition - Identifying client’s personal art style; art consultation and guidance at galleries; shopping, sourcing and design integration; selection and placement of art and accessories.

Purchasing - Sourcing and procurement of tile, stone, appliances, furniture, fine antiques, custom furniture, textiles, custom light fixtures, lighting, wall-coverings, window coverings, floor-coverings, carpeting and rugs, custom rugs, accessories, and materials based on the design.

Project Management and Coordination - Facilitate site visits and provide design oversight; consultant coordination; bidding and negotiation support; design quality control, sub and vendor assistance/support on behalf of Owners.

Showroom, Retail and Vendor Coordination - Coordination with showrooms, retailers, and vendors; moving, delivery, and installation oversight.
